Thursday Night Tournaments
A Strat-o-Matic Baseball League TNT!

In the Fall of 2007, the Thursday Night Tournaments (TNT) Strat-o-Matic Baseball League was born. Playing mostly in the North Hills of Pittsburgh, TNT pits the best MLB teams of all-time in a 16-team, double-elimination tournament for bragging rights and historic nostalgia.

Imagine the possibilities of Greg Maddux facing Babe Ruth with the game on the line, or Rickey Henderson dueling with Ty Cobb on the basepaths, or Willie Mays robbing Barry Bonds of a big HR... How about the possibility of seeing Bill Mazerowski hit another walk-off HR to win the Championship for the '60 Pirates? Or matching up the '27 Yankees against the '98 Yankees? If it sounds enticing, then TNT may be the place to play.

With four founding members managing four teams each, our first tournament featured some of the best teams to ever win (the '27 Yankees and '54 Giants), and many of the best that never did (the '01 Mariners and the '93 Braves). Adding to the intrigue, the owners also each draft a team from the 2006 MLB season to throw in four teams of modern day All-Stars. All rounds are played as the best-of-five series, with the Championship being best-of-seven.

Historic teams in the current Tournament (Season 2) include: 2004 Houston Astros (the Season 1 Tournament winner; see below), 2002 Oakland A's, 2001 San Francisco Giants, 1995 Cleveland Indians, 1975 Cincinnati Reds, 1975 Pittsburgh Pirates, 1971 Baltimore Orioles, 1971 Pittsburgh Pirates, 1964 Philadelphia Phillies, 1954 Cleveland Indians, 1941 Boston Red Sox, and 1911 Philadelphia A's

Congratulations again to the 2004 Houston Astros and GM Dave Jones for winning the first TNT! Click Here to see the exciting Championship series summary, which ended with an incredible Lidge-Pujols matchup.

Owners are currently in the midst of a Round Robin to determine seeding for the Season 2 Tournament Bracket. For those who may be interested, it's not too late to join the battle for dominance! Contact Us for details.
